Welcome Community Service Volunteers!

Thank you for your interest in serving with Partners in Housing! We provide resources for families with children experiencing homelessness or at imminent risk. Our mission is to guide families in housing crises to stability by providing one year of transitional housing and one-on-one supportive services.

Depending on your availability and our opportunity requirements, we'll do our best to find a strong fit for you!

If you are interested in serving with us, please complete the steps below. A Partners in Housing staff member will contact you within 3-5 business days to determine if we are a good fit and will then work on scheduling your hours. We look forward to serving with you!

Community Service Volunteers are eligible to complete their hours through our Lincoln Donation Center programs!


Attendance Commitment:

As a community-powered nonprofit, we rely on volunteers to provide various services each day. Volunteers are expected to fulfill the shifts they sign up for and should notify their immediate supervisor or the Volunteer Coordinator as early as possible if they can't attend.

If a volunteer has three absences without prior notice, they will be removed from the schedule. Should this occur, they will need to contact our Volunteer Coordinator to evaluate if the partnership is still a good fit.

To be approved, Community Service volunteers are asked to complete the following steps:

1. Create an account on our volunteer platform.

2. Submit your information for a background check *

*If you are looking for certified volunteer hours, please ensure you have filled out the background check form and heard back from a Partners in Housing staff member before signing up for shifts.

3. Wait for a Partners in Housing staff member to email you once approved

4. Once you have been approved by a staff member, you will be able to schedule your shifts!


Hours Verification

In order to verify your hours accurately, we ask that you track your hours through two methods. Please make sure to sign a paper log we have onsite; prompt staff to show you the binder during your first shift. Also, be sure to clock your hours when you serve using our check-in kiosk (QR code) onsite.
